HFC50-W/O - ROBUST AND COMPACT DC/DC CONVERTER FOR HARSH ENVIRONMENTS AND TRAIN TECHNOLOGY
The brand new 50 W converter with galvanic isolation for wall mounting offers an ultra-broad input voltage range of 14.4 to 154 V DC with 50 Watt power. A single converter therefore covers all international on-board voltages for rail vehicles (24 V to 110 V), including the +/- 40% tolerance range required by EN 50155, with one device. Thus, the ultra-broad solution is optimal to perform the qualification of assemblies cost-effectively with a single converter.
The EN 50155 with respect to temperature, shock, vibration and the railway-specific criteria for EMC according to EN 50121-3-2 are complied with without additional components. The converter has a built-in mains failure bridging of 10 ms (class S2) and through the high efficiency of up to 92%, the 50W output power is available over the complete temperature range from -40° to + 85°C pursuant class TX without derating.
An inrush current limiter as well as an overvoltage, overcurrent and overheating protection facilitate the design-in of the flyback converter. The converters are open-circuit-proof and permanently short-circuit-proof, the heat is dissipated via two small heat-conducting pads over the underside of the housing.
The selection of the circuit board material is based on already conducted fire protection tests pursuant EN 45545-2.
The converter can be ordered now. Available output voltages are 12 and 24 V DC. Further output voltages are available on request.
